–Ralph Yerian – SST Employee for 30 Years and Counting! On February 1st, 2012, Ralph Yerian celebrated 30 years with Special Service Transportation. Ralph started with the company in 1982 when the company had just a hand full of trucks, and a gallon of gasoline was a mere $1.30. Many things have changed in the past 30 years, but a few things remain constant: Ralph is just as dedicated to SST as he was from day one, he is a great mechanic, and SST is lucky to have him.

Phil and Kim honored Ralph’s 30 year anniversary by opening the office up to both past and present employees of Special Service, as well as vendors, friends, and family who have fond memories of Ralph over his years with the company. The turnout was a testament to the type of person Ralph is, and the employee he continues to be. When asked his thoughts on 30 years with SST, Ralph quoted something he had read just days before; “Everyone always thinks the grass is greener on the other side…but if you take the time to water your own, yours will be just as green!” he said. This hit home with Ralph, since he has been through the great economic years, as well as the very tough ones that the trucking industry has seen recently. He knew that leaving SST when times were tough was not worth the risk. He has everything he needs to be successful and happy right where he is. That made a lot of people smile and shows the type of role model he is for newer employees of the company.
